There’s this myth we’ve all been handed: that joy only shows up once fear is gone. That if we’re afraid, overwhelmed, uncertain—then we must wait. Wait until we’re healed. Until we’ve “fixed” the fear. Until we’ve earned our right to bask in the sun.

But here’s the truth: fear is part of being human. It’s not something to eliminate—it’s information. It’s your system trying to protect you, even if it doesn’t always have the full story.

It just doesn’t need to be in charge.

Fear doesn’t get the final say. It’s loud, sure—but it doesn’t always know what’s best. And sometimes, it gets in the way—of rest, of trust, of the kind of movement that comes from your deep inner knowing.

Fear is not a flaw. It’s not a mistake. It’s a part of our wholeness. A signal—not a stop sign. And when we stop villainizing it—when we stop believing that being brave means never being scared—we unlock the full, messy, radiant spectrum of what it means to be alive.

This month, we’re grounding into joy as a wholeness practice.

Not a prize for getting it “right.” Not something we chase once the discomfort is gone. Joy as something that can coexist with fear. Even—especially—when everything feels tender.

Fear is part of the dark. But darkness? It’s not evil. It’s the velvet background that lets our light sparkle brighter. Our gratitude, our laughter, our moments of rest and soft sweetness—they don’t erase the dark, they shine through it.

This June, joy isn’t the finish line. It’s the medicine. The practice. The reminder that even when it’s scary, even when it’s overwhelming, even when the fear is whispering all its usual warnings—you are allowed to bloom anyway.

A few ways to ground joy right now:

🌞 Pick one thing that sparks joy today.
Yes, even if you’re tired. Especially then.
✨ The smell of something warm
✨ A lyric that hits in your gut
✨ The way the breeze touches your skin
Let it in. On purpose. You deserve that feeling.

🌀 Ask your whole self: “What do you need?”
Not just the perfectionist. Not just the inner critic. Ask the part of you that’s tender. The part that’s wise. The part that’s ready to exhale. Let your wholeness lead.
